How is software compatibility with Hybrid 1.6.x?
« on: October 05, 2004, 04:25:16 am »
I'm groping around for another Rom and don't think I'm up for OZ 3.5 yet.  Still too many rough edges for me to knock off.  I'm thinking very hard about  going with the Hybrid rom with Qtopia 1.6

I'm worried about program compatibility however!  I own almost 20 kompany titles, and the ability to run prboom and qoverclock is a must.  I also have a lot of paid for software such ast rocketelite, candycrusher, etc.

Will these programs even begin to install correctly and run on Qtopia 1.6?  Anyone who has run Hybrid please take time to drop me some hints and tips.

My thanks for your time in advance!

Oops forgot some things:
Our family has four Z's all of 'em are sl-5500's
In addition to the above Synch-ing is completely mandatory.  Preferably with MS Outlook. (yah I know that sux but you can lead your wife to Linux but you can't make her drink!)

Can't answer about synching. I gave that up on all roms, as I find it much easier to just update files on CF (for pims I use KOPI and KAPI which have desktop versions that work on Winduhs or Linux and for DB I use Portabase which does also). That USB cradle synching is too messy and unreliable for me.

Also can't say about the particular tKc apps you mention, but all of these (which are all I own) work for me on this rom;
