Need To Ipkg-link After Every Reboot
« on: December 20, 2004, 07:59:19 pm »
Hello everyone!

I've a bizarre problem with my SL6000L running OZ 3.5.2 where all of the applications and libraries I have installed on my CF are unlinked after every reboot. After I reboot, I've got to go through and run ipkg-link mount /mnt/cf. Is there a process that detects these links and cleans them out if the targets are not found on reboot? Since I have a microdrive that everything is installed on, this might make a bit of sense... but who knows? Any ideas?

A fix was posted, basically you need to copy a script from one rcX.d dir to another one, so that it does ipkg-link automatically.

Yes and No.

The "fix" was for 3.5.1, not 3.5.2 and the bug only affected SD cards IIRC.
However, the same "bug" might be the cause for what you are seeing as few
devs use CF for storage by the looks of it.

Is every symlink lost after a reboot or only linbrary symlinks?
Can anyone here reproduce this?

That's the thing, it's just library symlinks. I'll search for the other fix for 3.5.1 and see if that applies. Thanks!
