Installing things on the C3000 is harder than I originally expected. I have an Ambicom wi-fi card which I try (mostly unsuccessfully) to download IPKs from the feeds using the package manager. Some advice as to how to get this to work more consistently would be extremely helpful and convenient to all of us.
I've tried installing GAIM on the C3000, but having installed the following packages...
gconv-tiny 2.2.4-2
libgaim 0.73-1
libgain-protocols 0.73-1
libglib2.0 2.2.1
libhnutls7 0.8.10-2
libopie1 1.0.2
libpng12 1.2.5-10
qpe-gaim (tried both 0.3 and 0.4)
zlib 1.1.2
...and it runs, but with nothing inside the window. There simply is Gaim written on top, with a few dividers in the top menu bar, and no text nor menus.
I've tried installing libncurses (all the available IPKs from the killefiz.de site) and none have worked, so I can't get smbmount (0.1) to run.
If anyone could provide some direct links to an easy to install Qtopia-friendly video player, messaging client, more functional terminal, and file explorer (one that will let me just tap applications files to execute them in a terminal), it would be greatly, greatly appreciated.
To make this thread a little more useful, could anyone also make a list of basic libraries everyone should have installed in order to run most applications problem-free? I find that the majority of my problems are just finding the right libraries.
