New C1000 Questions
« on: November 02, 2005, 06:26:42 pm »
Hello all,

I just received my first Zaurus, a C1000 (good deal, ~$400 + shipping = $440 from geekstuff4u.com). I was wondering:

1) What are the best/cheapest screen protectors for it?

2) It came with a EA-72 Charger which the support from Geekstuff4u assured me would work in the US. However, I've read on these forums that it should not be used. What's the scoop? My multimeter reads 5.16 volts on its output...

Thanks.

Josh

Congatulations to your C1000!

I got my ultra clear screen protector from PdAir.com - about $12.- shipped. It is very good.

I would be careful with the  really cheap ones/ since they can be extremely crappy....

get the ultra clear.  it is so clear that its like 99% invisible.

the only problem it is so difficult to install.  i purchased like 3 of them before i figured out that when i was installing them, i never really installed it right because i did not remove the actual layer that has the sticky stuff to touch the screen.  Just remember that the 12 dollars you spend per order is only for one screen.  Dont try the belkins or the stuff you see at fry's or office depot or staples.  Pale in comparison by a large margin.

I was pissed off thinking it was cheap product but in reality it was me.  When i took a closer look at it, i had the thing laying on the table until i saw that it had a layer i never removed.  after i installed it...best stuff!

i have the pdair case.  Looks ugly and cheap in picture but its actually high quality stuff when you put it in your hand and see it.

Very recommended.

purchase the c3000 version.  not the c700 or the c800 version.

thanks, I already ordered it though I have not yet received my new C1000 - hopefully next week.

I wonder how long the battery will last, I'll use it for ebooks and mp3's. If it's too short battery time for me I'll have to buy a 2nd battery and a charger which is quite expensive in Europe.

I've downloaded cacko 1.23 and hope I'll be satisfied with it...

Oh, just to mention HELLO to all out there - I'm new
