New Mplayer And Kernel :p
« on: December 23, 2004, 04:59:57 am »
I was googling around, looking for informations on my soon-to-be-received c3000 and just seen there was a new kernel for it with a whole bunch of optimisations by tetsu and a pxa270-optimised mplayer which is under development (btw I haven't been able to find a download link for it but it seem to be working  and it now seem to have better decoding performances than c860 thanks to wMMX optimisations wich are getting supported
SL-C3000 - pdaXrom 1.1.0Beta1
SL-C860 - pdaXrom 1.1.0 RC8 (charging circuitry dead :( )
CF RamStar 512 Mb / Hitachi 4Gb microdrive (thanks to creative's muvo² :p)
SD Sandisk 1Gb / Viking 256 Mb
Linksys WCF13 CF wifi card

Anyone willing to donate for my work, please consider donate to pdaXrom and/or OE/OZ projects instead, I wouldn't have been able to do anything without them ...

hello,

  i've been waiting for the file you're mentionning. In the tarball are "bvdd.o" and "mplayer". Can you tell from the atty.jp site how they must be installed ? i had no chance making it work with insmod bvdd.o and ./mplayer... it says "vo_bvdd: could'nt open /home/zaurus/.dev_bvdd" and of course i haven't got this file !

loran

ok i've found it !
Quote
sudo tar zxf mplayer-20041224.tar.gz
$ ls -l
 -rw-r--r--    1 1000     users       14592 Dec 23 18:09 bvdd.o
 -rwsr-sr-x    1 root     root      5081372 Dec 24 09:06 mplayer
$ sudo insmod bvdd.o
$ sudo mknod /home/zaurus/.dev_bvdd c 240 0
$ ./mplayer -vo bvdd foobar.avi
but it does not work with my test file.. i have to try with another movie file !

Well, this doesn't realy work for me though. I can watch an mpg
for one or two times, but than all I see is flicker on the sreen.

rmmod bvdd and insmodding it again doesn't solve it.

Hmm, even after 'reboot' it doesn't work anymore. That needs further
investigating ..

Let's see ...
