Ka/pi 1.9.15 Sync Problem?
« on: January 10, 2005, 04:04:03 pm »
Hi

I'm using a C750 with Cacko 1.22

After newly installing the Rom and installing all the KDE/Pim apps to SD card I started to synchronise, ie I didn't restore my KO/Pi and KA/Pi files.

I synch'ed the Sharp Calendar and Address Book with Outlook ok.

I synched KO/Pi with Sharp DTM ok. The Sharp Calendar entries were loaded happily into KO/Pi

I tried synching KA/Pi with Sharp DTM. All went well. It connected to the DTM files, did the analysis then asked if I would like to write back 486 entries. I clicked Write (or Execute) and it bombed out instantly.

After a couple of goes, I restored my KA/Pi address book back from the PC and deleted (emptied) the Sharp Address Book (using Delete All).

The same thing happened when I tried to sync.

Finally I synched the Sharp Address Book with Outlook so both the Sharp Address Book and KA/Pi were 'full'. When I tried to sync again DTM with KA/Pi, KA/Pi instantly 'disappeared'/aborted.

Ka/pi 1.9.15 Sync Problem?

I have the same problem syncing KA/PI contacts with Sharp DTM, reported it as a bug on the Sourceforge web site on the 18/11/04, they don’t appear to have looked at it as yet.

The bug affects all versions after version 1.9.10 & appears to be related to the number of contacts being synced.

Strange.

I'm sure I was on 1.9.11 before I upgraded.

I *thought* I'd waited out all the bug fixes (well, all the ones I was concerned about)

Did it work with Cacko 1.21?

Zautrix

I had the sync problem in November so it had to be on Cacko version 1.21.

Thanks for your reply, but I asked roger.

I have seen your bug report on sf, but I am clueless what is actually wrong.

I hope I can reproduce the problem sometimes ...

Do you want a copy of the contacts file?

Yes, that would be great - that would be a possibility to find the bug.

Can you send it to me?

Sorry for the delay in replying.

I don't know if 1.9.15 KA/Pi synched with Cacko 1.21, as I installed KDE PIM 1.9.15 for the first time after I installed Cacko 1.22

The contacts file I'm using worked fine with my earlier version of KDE/Pim, ie after the Cacko upgrade and the install of KA/Pi 1.9.15 I was still using the same contacts (std.vcf) file initially
