Just a quick note, Mike...from a fellow C3000 user....
Have used the C760, C860, and now the C3000...ALL very nice little devices!
Have also used everything from Newts, HPC's, Palm's, and PPC's....
The little Z's (especially the clamshell's, IMHO) are great. I tend to think of them as a mini convertible TabletPC like device and less as a PDA. Although, if you just stick with the pre-loaded apps, you can just use it as a PDA. However, if you do that, maybe you'd be just as well off with a Palm or PPC, etc...
The cool thing with the Z's is that they have the power to be much more than just a PDA. With most Z's (less with the C3000, due to it's recent arrival) you can replace your ROM with one YOU want, that does more of what YOU want, or even create your own if YOU want (and have the skills).
You can even put a Linux distro like Debian, etc on it! and then it really is a mini-laptop.
So, maybe the point is that the Z's let YOU decide what you want it to be rather than just accept what the manufacturer, Sharp decided it should be for you.
In the end, it's up to YOU to decide whether this power/flexibility is of any value or interest to you.
For me, it's been a great way to get further into the world of Linux and in a form that I can carry with me almost anywhere.
That's why I like my Z...
