Cheap Wi-fi Card In Uk
« on: January 23, 2005, 07:53:55 am »
Hello.

I have just found this wireless cf card on ebuyer.

It's only £22.32 inc VAT so... will it work in my Z 860 with cacko 1.22?
If not, can anyone recommend a good wireless card that I can buy online in the UK.

Thanks,
ad.

The fact that it has CF-1100 in the title, and exactly the same case as my Zonet ZCF-1100, and its about the same price, leads me to suggest that is a rebadged Zonet card.

They do work out of the box with Cacko 1.22.

It works with earlier versions of Cacko, OZ and PDAXROM as well if you search these forums for the necessary information.

My experience of these cards is fine, but then my access point is never too far away from where I am sitting. Others have commented that they find these cards to be pretty crap.

I would say that you get what you pay for and if you don't need massive range, and it is indeed a rebadged Zonet, then you should be fine.

Hope this helps,

Mike.

Thanks Mike,

you have got me wondering about the range now, just wanted to sit in the living room and browse web etc via machine in the attic...
If I can't find anything better branded at a reasonable price then I'll have to go with this.
Just bought the z, so not exactly flush at the mo.

Hi,

I recently bought on of these wifi cards, and cannot connect to the internet on a C860, Cacko 1.22

I dont know if the card is working or not, is there any way if I can tell if it is working or not without a wifi network to log on to?

Also, is there any way to search for wifi networks on the Zaurus, so rather than adding a new connection and entering details, it just finds one and sets it up automatically? (As my UX50 did)

I bought a Wifi USB dongle for my PC, and cannot connect to the zaurus, i dont know if it's the PC or Zaurus not workin - I dont have a router, just wanted to connect zaurus to PC, to sync from wifi and share internet.

Sorry this is not very specific, I dont know where to start to get it all working, any help would be appreciated!

Please, try all the options in Cacko FAQ (http://cacko.biz/cacko/faq) and Tips and Hints (http://cacko.biz/cacko/tips). If nothing helps, get back here and create a new topic
