Ereader Encryption Question
« on: March 25, 2005, 11:58:08 am »
I have purchased some books from eReaders.com in the past.  These books are protected with an encryption scheme, and thus cannot be read by my trusty opie-reader on my z6k.

I own them legally, and have the encryption keys to be able to view them.

My question is, does anyone know a program that will decrypt the file, or convert it into another format that is readable by opie-reader?

It was fine when I had their reader for my palm pilot, but now that i've moved onward and upward to the Z that only leaves my laptop as a "reading device" for these books.  And that's a bit of a heavy book.  =)

Thanks in advance for any insights anyone might have!

What you are trying to do is technically illegal in the US, which is probably why it is not an easy item to find.

If you are using the .LIT format from Microsoft you might try CLIT:

http://www.kyz.uklinux.net/convlit.php

There is also a package in the Cacko feed for clit:

Hope this helps.
