Uninstall Calendar Application
« on: May 10, 2005, 04:33:13 am »
Hi at all, I've just installed Ko/PI appl. and I'm thinking to uninstall the original calendar application. (I've the original Sharp Ram). Off course I've just tried to perform that with the install/unistall application but... I don't find the calendar.
It's possible?
If yes, how...

Tks

Nope, not possible on a Sharp ROM. The app is on the ROM, so you would have to install a different ROM to get rid of it. Not woth the trouble IMHO. I have been using the Opie Calendar for quite some time (since it saves the data in XML format, rather than Sharp's format). It works great.

I would be curious to see how you like the Ko/PI calendar. I am pretty happy with the Opie version, but always interested in what could be better.

I hope this helps,

Craig...

Hi Craig, tks for your replay, I supposed...
The Ko/Pi works great. My situation is:
a) server with SuSE 9.2
 laptop with Debian SID
c) "stupid"   terminal with WinXPPro
d) the "faboulos" Zaurus 6000
All the sync under WiFi.
I've used for a long time Palm (the last was TungstenT), the Ko/Pi,IHMO, is the most similar solution.

If you want to get rid of the Sharp Calender you will have to manually remove the application (and related libs too if you're really keen).

To do this you will need to remount / read-write (not for the faint at heart ). An easy option if you aren't worried about space is to just remove the .desktop file in /home/QtPalmtop/apps/Applications/ - that way it won't show on Qtopia any more and you can forget you have it installed.

Tks Stu, but the reason is, of course, the space.
