Keyhelper Helper
« on: May 12, 2005, 08:48:03 pm »
Is there a comprehensive document that explains the key codes and how they can be used in keyhelper?

Barring that, does anyone have a cheat sheet on how to make certain characters through key combinations? Keys such as the backtick for instance. Is the backtick one of the characters available on the key to the immediate right of the space bar? Is so, how do I make it work?

Also, can I use Keyhelper to remap the non-English characters above the keys that are "Normally" made by pressing the Fn key first?  I've learned that Fn + N will make { and Fn + M will make }.

Are there any other cool shortcuts out there? The ones I had for my 6K don't work in all cases.

Thanks so much,

gdog

Meanie,
Excellent site!  Too much to digest at one sitting, but you deserve many thanks for this, and if I was a moderator I'd pin this in a New York Minute.

Couple of questios for you. Where did you find the software, such as keyhelper and keyhelper.xml that you used? And the browsers? Also, have you found an English translation to the very thick manual that came with the 1K?

I'll spend some time on your site, One thiing I have found on my own, to be very useful is that Fn + n displays {,  and Fn + m displays }, and Shift + Fn + - displays the backtick, three most helpful chars for the unix/linux user.

At any rate, thank you very much. If you're always this helpful you'll have to tell us sometime how you got stuck with the nickname of Meanie ;o)

Best Regards,

gdog

One thing I will note is that your keyhelper.xml from your site doesn't seem to support the question mark.
