Usb Devices Working On C1000/3000

Hey,

I finally can lay my hands on a C1000.  The finishing is just darn gorgeous and has a serious metal build appearance.  I am so glad that the usb host capability makes it a genuine laptop replacement.

For testing usb things, my very first attempt is to connect a usb optical mouse.  I used a Logitech M-BJ58 and it just takes less than one minute to get it to work.  But there is a problem.  It seems the screen cannot refresh quickly enough to catch up with the mouse cursor.  As a result a lot of after images are left along  the cursor path.  Here is a screenshot of what happened when I flick the mouse over the clock face.  Actually the problem is more serious in Hancom Word, in which the program responds veyr slowly with many rapid cursor movements.

What would give rise to this: Z's screen?  The usb cable?  Or the mouse?  Does it happen to other mice as well (only got one mouse to test)?  Thanks!

Those trails are going to depend on a lot of things. They're there because the mouse pointer is just a hack through the Qtopia framebuffer. I get maybe a dozen or so, with pretty fast updates on my 3k. Haven't tried it with a 1000 yet.

I was going to say that they're normal, but your screenshot shows that it is definitely a problem for you...

I found a fairly nice cable/kit with interchangeable USB heads from GoldX.  The kit contains the following heads: Mini-USB A male, , Mini-USB B male,  USB A male, USB A female, and a USB B male.

The pouch shown in the above image is only large enough to house the aforementioned USB heads, and not the cable. The USB A female head is not sold with the shorter 1.5' and 3' length cables, so I purchased the kit with a 6' (~1.8m) cable.

In all honesty I feel that GoldX could've provided a better pouch with the cable. It has a single black elastic strap sewn to the case to provide a holster of sorts for the five USB heads. The only problem is that the strap is close to the bottom of the pouch, so it's a little difficult to get the heads to stay in the elastic loops (especially the outer two). It would also be nice if the pouch would have some kind of provision for an attachable or bulit-in clip for travel purposes.

Even with the cable length limitations and the disappointment with the pouch, I'd have to say that I still enjoy the kit.
