Going Back From Oz To Sharp Rom
« on: May 15, 2005, 07:05:07 am »
I'm trying to make a NAND restore of my C1000 - from OZ to Sharp. I am using ROM and instructions from trisoft.de, but I simply cannot get anywhere - I press D and M, but no matter what I do, I always get OZ loading up....no reset menu appearing in portrait mode...
any help on getting past this problem?
thanks

bcom,

the trick is that the Zaurus should "see" the pressed "D"+"M"
keys when he gets power.
- Pull the battery out, disconnect the AC adaptor.
- Press (and hold!) "D"+"M"
- Attach AC or insert battery
- you should see the diag

I haven't tried this yet on my new C1000, but it always worked on my C760

1. Unplug Zauarus from ac adapter
2. Remove battery from zaurus
3. Count to 10 slowly, now count to 10 slowly again as you probably counted too fast the first time
4. Hold down the D+M keys with 1 hand
5. While keeping the D+M keys pressed, plug in the ac adapter
6. Count to 10 again, before you finish the Diagnostic/Maintenance Screen will appear
7. Release D+M keys and replace battery

Hope this helps

thanks, managed to restore from SD...or better
it found SYSTC100.DBK on the SD card, ask me to Execute Restore, then Delete all Flash Data...then a green bar appareared on the bottom of the screen, that reached the end of the screen, and Restore....OK
appeared. should I manually reboot the zaurus or should it auto-reboot?
thanks

bcom,
exit the "Restore" dialog with "Cancel". The Zaurus won't
reboot automatically after a NAND-Restore.
To exit the Diag menu in the C1000/C3000 just turn it
off and tick the hard reset switch in the battery compartment.
We haven't found a more elegant way (like the "Reset" option
for the former SL-C series).
