Opie Reader From 3.5.3 Upgrade Now Throws Sigfpe
« on: May 19, 2005, 08:34:07 pm »
After running "ipkg upgrade" today, a new build of opie-reader was installed on my Poodle running OZ3.5.3.  Now, when I try to execute Opie Reader, the screen blinks, then the following message is printed in a pop-up:

"Opie Reader was terminated due to signal code SIGFPE"

Yikes.  I use this reader extensively.  I am loading JustReader temporarily as a workaround reader and leaving Opie Reader in this state.  Would love to know how to fix this.  Else, I'll pull it off and install an older version.

Thoughts?

[edited post to say 3.5.3 not 5.3.3]

SIGFPE is a floating point exception, isn't it? Opie-reader only uses FP in one place and that is in the "Jump to" dialog. Seeing as that can't be called up until after starting and the FP code isn't invoked until you press enter while it has the focus this is very strange.

For a long while I couldn't compile with soft float but I was still able to test opie-reader with the exception of that dialog.

I can supply an ipk which works if you particularly want this version but I really wanted to get the CVS version working. E-Mail me at timwentford AT hotmail DOT com if you want the ipk.
