Kopiemail 2.1.5 And Imap4 Ssl
« on: June 09, 2005, 12:40:06 am »
I have been trying to get an IMAP4 configuration running on an IPAQ 3870 with Familiar 0.8.2 and Opie 1.2.  I tried the latest OpieMail included in Opie 1.2 and it seems that I could never successfully negioate with the server.  The company is running a IMAP4 SSL access on port 993 and with everything setup it would eventually timeout.

So thinking that it might be the application I searched the web and ran across KOpieMail.  Fundamentally the same OpieMail core, but yet I hoped for more.

Again, I ran through all the set-ups and installed all the dependanies and the application starts up fine.  Configured the IMAP connection to the corporate server and tried to access the inbox.  At least this time I saw some feedback in that the application indicated it was fetching folders, but then again, it just went off and eventually timed out.

I have done the same on WinCE and all was fine, but I continue to have issues with the Linux sys.  I am looking for anyone that might have some input or suggestions.

Some additional info I forgot... KOpieMail Version 2.1.5, Kmicrodelibs Ver 2.1.5 for OZ and openssl Ver 0.9.7e-r1 from the std Opie 1.2 feed was used for the install.

KOpieMail worked for me with ssl/Imap4 servers - until yesterday.
The fetching mail is working, but yesterday I tried (for the first time) to copy mails from one IMAP server to the other. And there are random timeouts during the copy.

Maybe that is the same problem as you have.

I will look at this problem later ...
There will be an entry in the changelog if I fixed something in a new version.
