Cool Group Uses For Zaurii?
« on: September 01, 2005, 05:23:09 pm »
Hi,

I've been considering setting up a group event to spark interest in the Z, and Linux handhelds in general.

Does anyone have some interesting software/uses for a group of 10-20 Z's? Bonus points for anything with an immediate WOW factor.

Thanks in advance,
Randall.

I wonder if there was a distributed cc.  Compile apps natively on the zaurus relatively fast.

Are there LAN games for the Z?  I haven't looked to see if prdoom is networkable.
I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

ZeroConf - then some kind of messaging app, etc.

Might take a bit of work to get it all up and running though.

What about something like this: http://killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=800

Or try to test some ad-hoc routing: AODV

What about VOIP on an ad-hoc network? Or does this require a server somewhere?

Just a few ideas,
