I just got a 5500 refurbished from Sharp. I plugged it in and let it charge until the battery indicator light went off. The first few days I did not notice any kind of problem with the system. As of today it is running OZ 3.5.3 and Opie. While working on it today the machine just shuts off and will not turn back on without a soft reset. The battery is still in the 90% range when this happens. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? I have seen references to a back up battery and thought I read somewhere about the back up battery taking a full 24-30 hours to charge fully, however the booklet also says you should only charge it until the battery light goes off. Any insight on this might help? Has anyone experienced this type of problem? Will it hurt to leave it on the charger for 24-30 hours even though it is already charged?
Also, I apologize if this has been covered. I search the forums, but found nothing similar.
