Getting Keyboard Wedge Bar Code Scanner Working
« on: October 15, 2005, 05:08:27 pm »
OKay, somewhat related to my cuecat and SL5500 question.

I have another bar code scanner, the Unitech MS210-1K, and would like to get this working with my Z running OZ3.5.3, this is the email I sent to the Serial IO folks regarding their Java based Serial Port product, anyone know of any other ways to accomplish the same thing?

Hi there, I am interested in the Serial Port software and would like to
know if it will work in my planned configuration.

I have a Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 PDA running OpenZaurus 3.5.3, I also have a
the same unit running the Sharp 2.10 Rom.

I have a ps/2 based bar code scanner that acts as a keyboard wedge

The model is the MS-210K

I can power up the unit and scan, if I use a ps/2 to serial adaptor and
plug that into my serialio zthin serial cable, and run the Serial Port
software, will I be able to get the output from the scanner into a text
editor for example?
