Cacko Lite 1.22 On Sl-c700 With Wcf11
« on: October 12, 2005, 08:24:48 pm »
Hello, I have installed cacko lite 1.22 on my sl-c700, at first after install the wifi card didn't even react, it simply didn't do anything at all, then I installed the hotfix 1.22a and after the patch the card was detected but then does nothing, the light of the wcf11 stays off, then I click on the small applet and it says autoconnection in progress and after that autoconnection failed (the wifi light blinks a little and then off) the card seems to be unable to properly initiate or something like that...  I have a sl-c3100(sharp rom of course, waiting for cacko) also and the same card in the same hotspot detects the wifi and connects succefully.

My setting is :
Cacko lite 1.22
Hotfix 1.22a
Japanese kernel with japanese support ipk
Jisho, Kani, hancom word/sheet, zeditor, Qpdf2, CloverPaint, Sharp Calendar/Adress/todo/MusicPlayer, NeoCal, E/J Translator, zBedic, MioReader, mioFlash, JLPTVoc, Kino2, Voice Recorder, Sharp PhotoStorage, QFlashPlayer, NetFRont3.1, VNC Viewer

anyway, in short my question is, what I need to do to put my wifi working

thanks for all.

PS: On a side note, when the cacko rom for sl-c3100 will be ready (even a beta) could you make a big update on www.cacko.biz please ? actually there is the beta rom for sl-c3000 around, but is kind of difficult to find...then each day I browse a little around these forums to see if the 3100 beta is ready or not.

Try to disable autoconnect option.

oki, I unchecked auto-connect, now I configure my wifi connection as follows :

- ess-id :    MyWifiName
- network:   802.11 Ad-Hoc
- channel :  11

-WEP :    40 bits
Key1:    ********    (my key)
Authentification : Shared Key

then I set up also the IP and DNS (no DCHP in my network) then I get in NetFront a TCP Write Error...  :'(

I have tryed plenty of other settings, like putting Infrastructure, Open Key, etc... but all the other combinations it says can't connect, the configuration up here at least it says connected and shows a blue icon for the wifi connection...

On an unrelated sideline, Kismet doesn't seem to work (kismet server not found) and wellereinger (not sure of the name) doesn't even start... but one step at a time, first I need to see why my config here is not working, then I will move on kismet

I have played with my 3100 and the original sharp rom (the post before is for my 700) and if I put exactly the same configuration, then the 3100 rom reacts exactly the same way, TCP error on netfront... hummm
but the sharp rom seems to connect on infrastructure mode while the cacko rom don't... also I can put open key or shared key, but both it simply doesn't work...  :'( always get TCP write error....

Edit : with the 3100 I can connect into my neighbords wifi (very unprotected) and navigate the web, with the 700 I put the same config but it seems not to detects my neighbord wifi and would not connect at all...

Edit again : another comment, I'm switching the linksys card from zaurus to zaurus, my 3100 with the sharp rom already freezed twice because of hot unpluging the card, the cacko rom don't freezes at all by unpluging/plugging the card

Another Edit : I have managed to get wellenreiter up and running on my c700, I needed to install some libs, now, in the wellenreiter config I select hostap as driver and name wifi0, also there is plenty of options in the configuration that are grayed out...  anyway, the main point is I start sniffing and then it returns nothing, and sees nothing... my wifi network is hidden and with WEP Key, not public, but then my neighbords wifi is a very very open and unsecure one (I'm able to log onto it directly from windows laptop, no need to configure nothing at all) my 3100 can also very easily log into his wifi network... now, I'm back into thinking something is wrong with my wifi card install/configuration on cacko... humm I will try wellenreiter on my 3100 for fun... ^c ^
