Development On Linux Ppc
« on: November 29, 2005, 04:38:42 am »
Hi,

I have a Linux PPC box (It's a Pegasos 2 with Debian Sarge at the moment but maybe will install OpenSUSE).

I have written Zaurus apps before but always using Linux x86. Now I need to set up my dev environment for PPC. Does anyone already have this environment ?

Otherwise I need a cross compiler etc. Umm, excuse my ignorance, what exactly is a "tool chain" ? Is it the cross compiler, linker, libraries etc ? Does anyone have some tips for how to go about this ?

I'm thinking that I need to download gcc 2.95 and compile it so it can generate ARM code. Then I need to make sure I have Qt Embedded dev system and Qtopia 1.7. Then there's the Sharp SDK.

Any help appreciated!
