In my new job, the wireless network is Cisco and is not terribly Linux-friendly that I have found. Yesterday I downloaded podcasts for the commute home to a CF card, but when I plugged it into the Zaurus (running Hentges 3.5.3 with the kernel updated for the suspend bug), I found that it did not find anything on the card. The card was 64 MB and ext2 formatted, so I tried a 32MB card that was VFAT, and got the same thing.
I rebooted the Z (Collie), figuring a driver may have gotten hung up and having no clue where to look, and left the card in through the reboot. When it came back up, it found the podcast on the 32MB card. I copied it to the Zaurus, and inserted the 64MB card. When I did this, the filemanager and the console saw the contents of the 32MB card. I rebooted again with the 64 MB card in place, and when it came up, all it saw was lost+found, not the other podcasts. Note that only about 20% of the podcast that I copied from the 32MB was able to play before it got an I/O error.
Is something up with the CF handling with Hentges with the new kernel? I wonder if this isn't related to Grimmy's
post in the
New Hentges Rom Release Candidate, For Collie, Poodle & Akita thread.
Thanks,
