A Few Problems With Emulators
« on: November 30, 2005, 09:14:39 pm »
Hi,

I have Meanie's debian running on my C1000.  I used apt-get to install Bochs and Bochs-x (to use x for the bochs window).  I installed ms-dos 6.22.  All text mode dos applications run fine.

But as soon as I load a graphics program (eg, original civilisation, windows 3.0 etc.) the screen stays black and the width of the screen narrows.  The Bochs output file doesn't record any error but I have to turn bochs off or reset it to get it to work again.

I'm thinking that this might have something to do with the Zaurus having a screen to small to fit the native VGA graphics that dos requires.  I have tried different VGA bios' for bochs with no success.

I tried the zbochs and dosbox Qt packages from this forum, but I get:

"error while loading shared libraries:  libstdc++-libbc6.1-2.so.3: cannot load shared object file.  No such file or directory"

Does this mean that I haven't installed the shared libraries or I haven't linked them.  How do I link them?

Thanks
Gary
