I\'m using the Sharp 3.10 and was interested in trying the Cacko ROM. My big question is, if I backup my setting on the Sharp ROM, can I restore in Cacko and the other way around?
Having to start over when going from 2.38 to 3.10 was a major headache for me.
When you say backup, are you speaking of using the backup/restore app? ie. backing up your current rom, flashing to cacko\'s rom, then running the restore?
Or do you mean simply copying the .xml files (addressbook, todo, etc.), then placing those in their respective places on the new rom?
I\'m assuming you mean the first option, and I unfortunately don\'t have an answer. Maybe someone on this forum will respond with the answer, or you can try a search on the zaurus.com/dev/forum, as it has so much knowledge in the forums.
The reason why I ask, is that I never backup my Z prior to re-flashing to a new rom. For the pim data, I just re-sync with win2k/outlook after the flash, and I always keep a mirror copy of all my documents (text, excel, word, etc.) on my ftp server. That way when I have a new rom, I just setup my wifi and ftp the files locally.
It\'s a little bit of overhead/upkeep, but I never have to worry about loosing data.
