Pocketop and OZ
« on: February 20, 2004, 11:58:23 pm »
I recently purchased a pocketop keyboard thinking it would be pretty handy.  After digging around for drivers, It easily installed under the sharp rom.  This was after I tried and install under OZ 3.3.6 pre1 and 3.2.  I was wondering if any one had actually gotten it to run under Open Zaurus.  Also does it run under the tk rom?

I dont know why I had so much trouble with it.  I can understand it probably not running under 3.3.6pre1 because of gcc3, though I dont know if that is accually correct or not.  I don\'t know why it wouldn\'t work under 3.2.  I will just have to try again.  Thanks, at least I know now that it should work.

Yup, it\'s the gcc version.  I can\'t get it working either.

All you ave to do is set up a cross compiler for it on a linux desktop, install a few hundred Mb of libs and sources, compile all of opie and all the libs and then go through a complicated rigamoralle to compile and install your newly compiled IRK.  i\'ve been told by numerouspeople that this is realy quite simple, but appearantly I spen to much time in college studying physics and mathematics and not enough studying CS because it\'s so far over my head that i gave up on it weeks ago.

My best advice is to install 3.3.5 and use that untill someone makes a usabke ipk for the IRK driver,

Haha, yea today before reading this I decided that I would try to cross compile it, but quickly became quite a project to get setup and I had to put it aside.  I guess I will just wait for a compatible driver.   Thanks.
