Blanking Screen Instead Of Dimming
« on: March 02, 2006, 10:28:46 am »
Hello, Is there a way to blank (turn off backlight) instead of dimming to lowest backlight level after a few seconds of IDLE?

I know it can go in suspend mode, but I want to still be able to copy files, telnet and so on while the screen is turned off (save power)

There's a few settings in Settings/qpe.conf that might do the trick, but I don't know..

Thanks!

just close the lid and the screen should turn off automatically.

which machine do you have?  On the newer clamshells there is a setting in the second tab of light and power to suspend on lid closure.  Just uncheck that.
I'm now an iphone user and use my zaurii as serial terminals, perl and shell scripting and when I need 640x480 screens

I'm using a SL-C3000, and I was aware of the lid setting, but I would like it to act like a screen saver, where it would blank after a few seconds, and lit again when I press on a key..

Perhaps it's not possible
