Daniela ate my addressbook
« on: March 11, 2004, 12:32:36 am »
I backed up my addressbook by copying the directory ~/Applications/dtm to a CF card. I had been using the cacko ROM released in Jan 2004 and flashed to the newest one. I copied the dtm directory back to /home/zaurus/Applications/dtm and addressbook shows no addresses!

If I delete everything in the dtm directory and  run addressbook,  it creates some files named SLADR.BOX, SLADR.IDX, and some others.  I noticed that my old dtm directory has all lowercase names so I tried renaming them to upper case but still no addresses when I run addressbook.  If I fiddle around too much with the dtm directory, addressbook refuses to start until I restart Qtopia.

Can anyone fix this?

If your CF card was formatted as FAT then case in file names was not preserved. So after you restore your backup files, you need to check that their case is the same. Also, make sure to turn off fast load option for Addressbook before copying files.

Add kill the process too. You can use the System Info app to see what processes are running and send the kill signal.
