New Pdaxii13 And Pdaxrom Config Tool

I just started work on a config tool for pdaXii13. This one is to replace the Xdialog based script that is currently being used. I just started coding it this morning so most of the features are not working yet, but you can get a feel of how it looks like when you run it. It is written using QT3.



you will need to copy pdaxii13-splash.png to /usr/share/pixmaps and unzip pdaXcfg.zip and run pdaXcfg to test it...

done some more work and now it is getting there... only really have to make it able to update the pdaxii13.conf file via check boxes or true/false comboboxes and it will be ready to be the new pdaXii13 config tool. other extra features can be added in the future but for now, i want a tool to update pdaxii13.conf....

even newer version with lots more features added. if you have not realised yet, tapping on the top and bottom text on the About page actually does something provided you got flite and dillo installed

an even more improved version  
the dialog boxes will now be all send to the foreground so all you need to do is hit enter to acknowledge them. this has been tested on openbox and icewm which behaved differently...

an updated network config tool has been added which currently can configure and activate network connections for ethernet and wifi doing basic dhcp or statically assigned IP addresses. wep is currently mandatory for wifi but everything should be configurable in future releases. this is just for preview so you can get an idea on what the new network config tool will be capable of in the future and how it looks like.

once it is all done, it will also be able to make bluetooth pan connections, irlan (network over infrared), rndis network (using the usb client mode network emulation)

yeah, that's how it is supposed to work. if wifi-radar is installed, it will launch wifi-radar instead since it is much more fully featured tool.
the idea behind network-cfg is to have a unified tool for all network related things and create standard config files under /etc/sysconfig/netconfig which can be used by other subsystems like udev/hotplug, etc...

you can have multiple profiles for your various network devices and only the active/selected profile can be connected/disconnected.
