I don't have a SimPad, but I can tell you my experience of running it on my C860 yesterday.
I installed the 2007 altboot console image (because I need to get altboot working for testing dualbooting). Install went fine.
At first I could get wifi working very easily.
But then, I did "ipkg update" and then "ipkg upgrade" to upgrade the system. It did download and install a whole lot of packages. In the end, my wifi card suddenly failed to work. Plugging in. No light. Nothing from dmesg. At first I was thinking the card died...
But I reinstalled the whole thing again (using the same console image). This time I changed the feeds pointing to the "2008" repo sources. Alas, upgrade stopped at some point. Then the system froze. There's nothing I (knew I) could do.
I did read the wiki and Manual on the Angstrom website before doing all this. There seems to be nowhere mentioning managing the feeds. Something goes wrong but no documentation.
Also searched the Angstrom mailing lists using the two engines suggested by the wiki. Nothing found.
How about the bugtracker? Still nothing.
This must be a very interesting situation. Or it's just bad luck on me.
Hey, my wifi isn't dead. It works normally on other systems (Debian, Cacko).
