Occasionally Need To Reboot To Start Charging Process!
« on: June 12, 2008, 04:55:30 pm »
At regular points when I plug in my Z to charge up the light will go on momentarily and the Z will show no signs of charging. I have on occasion left it plugged in but no charge built up so its clear if the charge light dosen't come on it not charging. So the usual remedy is I do a reboot and this sorts it out, only thing is its a bit annoying and I'd like to understand whats going on and solve it without the reboot.

Thanks
Gus

Anyone know why this might be, even a clue!

Does it keep doing that if you unplug-replug the power cable, without the reboot? And how old is your battery?
SL-C3100 with usb power mod running debian eabi
pdaXii13 still on the NAND for dualbooting
16GB SDHC! (a new one, after I sat on the old one and it went kaput)
D-Link 660 wifi, Socket Bluetooth rev H
External 9800mAh LiIon battery and slimline dvd drive
Homebrew microphone and remote

Not every time just occasionally, but when it does happen the only way I have of fixing it is to reboot. Don't know how old the battery is but it seems fine. Know any remedy apart from the reboot?
