Special Kernel bad link??
« on: April 01, 2004, 12:45:13 am »
Ok I\'m confused here... after I downloaded the kernel upgrade off the ZUG Downloads I get a file called:

zImage_Special5600_No_Preemptive_No_Overclock-c860ROMv1.10.bin

No Preemtive... No Overclock.. c-860???!!!

The first part of the file is right, \"zImage Special5600\", but I\'m a bit worried to flash this with the rest of the file name.  Was this just named wrong, or am I that tired that I\'m reading this all wrong here?  The version should also be v1.3, not 1.10.

I\'m using Opera 7.23 (Windows) to download this if by chance my browser screwed up, I\'ve seen it rename .ipk files to .tar before, but nothing this strange.

Special Kernel bad link??

No, it\'s fine. Sorry for the confusion, but it went through some trial and error development and initially had the pre-emptive patch and was overclocked by default. The pre-emptive patch caused more trouble than it was worth and it now runs at 400MHz by default, for those who don\'t like overclocking, but can be set to overclock. I needed to keep track of which kernel was which and the ZUG downloads needs a unique filename for every entry in the same category.

It also uses the kernel source from the c860 ROM v1.10, but configured for the 5600.
