Advice Before I Take the \'ROM Flash Plunge\'
« on: April 08, 2004, 10:40:59 pm »
Would like to try the new Cacko QT ROM on my C860.

However, before I do would like some input as to what I need or should do just in case I want to go back to Sharp ROM...

So do I

A) Need to make NAND Backup or is it available online?

Need any other backup? I have made several backup files using built-in Sharp app.

Anything else I should do before flashing my Z??

Thanks!!

Mark

I made a NAND backup but I thought I saw one posted online (plus after going with another ROM you probably won\'t think about the Sharp one again  ).  As for other backups, if you have synced up then you won\'t lose any PIM data.  Any other things you have on the machine that you want to keep (development scripts, other data files, etc) you should backup to SD/CF or your PC.  You might want to keep track of all the things you have installed - c++, java, libs (like SDL, etc) so you can get back up and running with all your expected apps.  I use Cacko 1.20, but I think I might try the 1.21 to see if it helps with my Socket BT issues.

Thanks for the advice Gary!

I did check around and saw that Conics.net has one to download. Although I think\'s the original Japanese one...

If I were to make my own NAND Backup from my \'converted to English\' C860 I assume it would retain the English conversion right?

Thanks,

Mark
