how to - *.ipk.tar
« on: April 04, 2004, 04:46:14 pm »
I\'m new to linux (SL-C700). How to install packages in *.ipk.tar format? Standard (add-remove) application doesn\'t have this ability.
If Zaurus linux is a debian clone, is there a way to make debian packages work?
What about this new pdaXrom? I use Japanese translated into English.

Please help.

Windows Insternet Explorer (and less commonly Mozilla) often rename ipks to *.ipk.tar when you download them.

Just rename them to *.ipk and you should be fine.
