Bubble in screen advice
« on: December 08, 2003, 10:45:28 am »
I dropped my Zaurus 5500 in water by mistake.  I took it apart and rinsed it off with rubbing alcohol in hopes that would help it dry faster and prevent further corrosion.  It works fine when it is put back together (screen still sensitive, OS still running), however, there is a thin bubble of water/alcohol in what looks to be the layer between the actual glass of the display and the plastic layer that sits on top of that.

Is it likely this will dry out okay over time, or can I remove the plastic layer and clean it?  It looks like that layer can be peeled up, but it is pretty firmly attached and I do not know if I would damage the unit by doing so.  Is it just for protection to the screen, or is it essential for other reasons?

Thanks for any help,
Leah

Way back in the days of old, Timex watches would get condensation in them. We usually cured that by putting them on top of the TV.

It is worth a try.
