Imagemagick
« on: November 03, 2005, 12:33:23 pm »
Is there a kind soul out there with compiling facilities who would compile a version of ImageMagick for me which includes TIFF and JPEG support? I really need only the 'convert' binary.

I've been trying to get Rob Fisher's ARM version of ImageMagick to work in conjucntion with libtiff, so that I can convert TIFF files to JPEG, without success. I think this may be because his version doesn't have TIFF support built in. I keep getting the message 'TIFF library not available'.

I run Debian on my desktop and have installed an ARM cross-compiler setup but when I try to compile ImageMagick it fails with an Internal Error. After searching on the Web I am led to believe that this is caused by a compiler bug.

That means I'm stuck as I'm no expert when it comes to compiling.

I can recommend installing DebianWorkstation (XQT) stuff. I it will give you a standard debian environment inclusive a GCC compiler (and working environment).

(Sorry that I can't fix it for you. Have some problems with the Z at the moment :-(
Sharp Zaurus C3100
1 GB Kingston SD Card
CE-RH2 Remote
DLink Air WLan (a really crappy card)

Sharp ROM
X/QT Jumbopack

I did eventually find a version of ImageMagick that did have TIFF support only to find that it was so slow when trying to modify a batch of 10 files that it was virtually unuseable.

I now use VisualQ in batch mode.

Thanks for trying to help.
