Possible to read .chm files?
« on: June 20, 2004, 06:56:27 pm »
Is it possible to read compiled help files (*.chm extension) in the Z? I have some e-books that come in that format & I was wondering if I\'d be able to read them on my Z5600.
SL 5600 PXA250 with Watapon 1.6
Kingston 256MB SD/ Canon 32MB CF/ Pretec WiFi 802.11b

(Still) Looking for a suitable case

I hope Tim doesnt mind, but while I was beta testing a bunch of newer versions of Opiereader, I recall Tim saying that he was/had put in chm support. You might want to drop him a line, or check out the newest \"unstable\" version of opiereader on his site (it\'s not really unstable, it\'s just newer). I havent talked to him in a while, I can only assume he\'s madly busy, but he might have some time to answer your question.

At the moment, you either need to use an external utility to convert the .chm to another type (.htm or .pdf are good choices), or you\'ll have to find someone to port a utility like kchm to the Zaurus (http://sourceforge.net/projects/kchm/).
