Ove/under clocking SL-5600

Somewhere i read about 471MHz overclock. Is it posibel for my 5600-250?I've tryed some combinations but but my Z hangs. My frequencys are:
  • Crystal 3.6864
  • Memory 99.533
  • Run mode 199.07
  • Turbo mode 398.13
  • PXbus 99.533
, acording to Qclockchange.

Change the 'L' value from 1 to 2, so you should get 242 over the 'Write CCCR' button.

If you get hangs with this, then something in your Zaurus is probably operating very close to the tolerance limits under normal conditions and this just pushes it over.

Remember, Sharp only guarantee a certain specification and going outside that range may also potentially damage your Zaurus. While there is a slight gain in performance, it is questionable whether it is worthwhile to overclock all the time or even occassionally.

tumnus 10x for quick answer. Will there be any batery performance inpruvment if i underclock my Z when i dont nead full CPU power?

There will probably be a slight improvement in battery life from underclocking.

Someone managed to meassure the current used by different parts of the Zaurus and posted their findings in the old Zauruszone wiki (which I think is gone now). IIRC, the CPU is the 2nd most power hungry at about 50mAh. The front light is the most power hungry by far at about 100mAh-275mAh (depending on brightness settings), which the clock speed will not affect of course.
