I posted this on openzaurus-users over at SourceForge, but might as well post it here as well.
I've been trying to flash OZ on my 860 with no luck.
I went to the site (
http://www.openzaurus.org/official/) and picked up the packages for
both 3.3.5 and 3.3.6-pre1.
I renamed the appropriate files (initrd-gcc3.bin, zimage-boxer.bin) to initrd.bin and
zimage.bin respectively.
I copied all three files (updater.sh being the third file of course) to the root of my 512 meg Sandisk CF card. The same card that I have been using to flash my 860 for some time now.
I yank the battery (otherwise the unit would not turn on at all), plug in the charger, hold down the "OK" button and fire it up. The screen takes me to all of the right places and I begin the flash.
The flash looks like it is doing fine and the unit reboots and hangs on the dragon screen.
This does this for both 3.3.5 and 3.3.6-pre1. Eventually the flashing cursor goes out and it just sits there. I tried this twice for 3.3.6-pre1 and once for 3.3.5, each time erasing the three files and re-copying them to the root of the CF card (I have been burned by having a bad copy of updater.sh before when I went to flash).
I tried to flash it again using the TKrom, but couldn"t find the zimage file that the 860 needs (anybody know where to find that?). So I tried the OZ z file instead (not expecting much) with the same results except that it spit out an "error!" before going to the dragon screen.
So since it"s late, and a working Z would be really nice I went back to cracko using the same card. This shows that both the Z and the card are working fine.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks for all of your help, and I look forward to giving OZ a shot on my 860 (loved it on my 5500).
