The defragment message when syncing
« on: August 06, 2004, 08:02:27 am »
I have had one occurance of something unusual when synchronising - although I have had only one defrag message when synching the Cacko 1.21b ROM.

Essentially this was caused by the sync purging a lot of emails and as soon as the message appeared the screen went garbled - black with partial text (white) on alternate scan lines. Looked like it had switched to a 320x240 mode - on an SL-C860 (is this within the graphics controller capability to support different resolutions ?) anyway waited a few seconds, hit Cancel a few times and the screen came back to 640x480 resolution.

My immediate impression was maybe a console message appearing on the frame buffer outside of Qtopia ?

Hmmm... rebooted shortly after.

Is this a common glitch ? Doesn't seem to be fatal but it's a bit strange and quite alarming when it first happens.
