zaraus usb 802.11b ??
« on: August 20, 2004, 03:00:42 pm »
This question is a 2 parter:

1. Are USB connections 'bi-directional'? Or, will the Zaurus USB sync cable connect to a USB dongle device such as an 802.11g ?? Does the Zaurus provide the necessary power to drive it? Or is the Zaurus strictly a 'slave' device??

2. If the above connection works will the OZ 3.3.6pre1 recognize and drive an 802.11b device connected to the cradle sync cable?

Thanks,
Dan

Bi-directional yes, but not peer to peer. There are slave and master devices (clients and hosts?).

Everything Zaurus but the 6000 is only a slave. The 6000 can also be a master. You can get CF cards which will allow the (other) Zs to be masters.

Assuming you use a CF card (or perhaps you have 6000) it depends whether there are drivers for the device, or if they can be compiled.

Not much help I know, sorry.
