opie media player2 "play list" ??
« on: August 22, 2004, 02:11:15 pm »
All,

After re-flashing and re-loading OZ and Opie Mediaplayer2 is in and 'plays'. The problem is it does not find mp3 files and create a playlist.  I can only get it to play one file, not a play list.

Should Mediaplayer find mp3 files?

What should the 'add files' button do?

What is the prcess to find files in a mounted file system and add them to a play list??

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,
if you are using the hentges rom and having the mp3 on card, you should try to activate scanning for media in settings:mediummount, maybe playing with document tab. Maybe you have to restart opie.
Hope this hint helps,

Sam,

Yes, I am using the 1.1.3 Hentges ROM. I went into Card Manager and reset all the options. I then rebooted the Zaurus. (It would not reboot in the cradle; I had to reset and reboot??) No files appeared on the file scan. I had an earlier version installed (1.0.3) and this worked. I seem to remember that the scan produced a list.

Hi Dan,
I have the 1.1.3 and always put musik on CF. This works.
Here are my settings:

Mediummount->Global:
  • enable medium checking
  • use global settings

     -> Which media files

  • All

Mediummount ->CF Card
      -> Which media files

  • All
  • Scan Whole media
  • Always chech this medium

I dont think you need to reboot, you can just restart opie using the shutdow icon in the settings tab, there you can choose just to restart opie.
Maybe you eject the card and insert it again, the it should be fine.

In the mediaplayer change to the Audio tab. This takes time cause mediaplayer scans and now you can choose the titles you want and add to play list.
Here my mediaplayer is sometimes buggy and dont shows scroll down. In this case I use the navigation button or I rotate, then the scrolldown bar is back.

I hope this helps and was your question.

Cheers,
Sam

Sam,

Thanks, that time it worked. Is there a Zaurus wiki somewhere to add some of these load, config, and use questions??

Again thanks,
Dan
