Partition sizing
« on: September 21, 2004, 08:18:54 pm »
I've asked this before (actually just the other day over in general discussion), but never got the answer I was looking for.

When installing a new rom, i have the option of changing the size of the root partition. It seems that there are both root and user partitions. What are these used for? Is one just for the rom so it should be as small as possible? If I make the root partition as big as possible, will that stop me from copying files to my home directory?

Basically, what are the partitions in the Zaurus (without considering SD or CF cards) and what is put in those partitions by default?

You don't get this choice with the OZ updater.sh I didn't think, though I would be interested to know what you have to set it to for OZ (as I have played around with pdaXrom and resized, etc.).
