Deep Sleep and SL6000W PDA
« on: October 01, 2004, 05:50:16 am »
Hi,

I am currently trying to put my bluetooth device on SL6000W PDA to Deep Sleep, to get and measure some power savings on my PDA.

With my testing I found out that the PSKEY for Deep-Sleep 0x0229 has value 1 stored in it. Which means Deep Sleep enabled always on the chip. Based on the testing results and based on the mail that I got from CSR support, I am doing all the steps that are required for the chip to go into a deep sleep mode. The power measurement that I did on the PDA shows:
With Bluetooth ON: 180mA of power consumtion.
With ACL connection: 220mA of power consumption.
With Park Mode: 190mA of power consumption.

But from the above results looks like the Bluecore chip is not going into deep sleep, since after putting into park mode the chip should move into deep sleep and hence consume only few uA of extra power beyond 180mA. Whereas in this case it is consuming around 10mA more in park mode.

One observation from my end is that after doing an hciattach to the csr device the blue light is always on. Does that mean that the device is always on and will not go to deep sleep.

Any information or pointers will be of great help.
