what\'s up with the digitizer for the new rom :x

no matter what I do it is never right. I\'ve tried so many times..

when I tap and hold, the cursor jumps from left to right of my stylus :cry:

why does it do that?

this didnt happen with the old rom

hmm.. I\'m not seeing the same problem with my 760 and the (slc7x0-x11rom-0319241203.zip) new ROM. Do you have a screen protector on the Z? Probably stupid questions, but did you remove the pointercal_tslib and reboot? Did you format user flash and start all over?

I had the same problem with that rom on my 860. I used the keys to set up the left, mid or right mouse click befor touching the screen and that worked well. I then discovered that by changing the over clock setting to 470 or whatever the next step up is, the hold for right click worked beautifly.

I still wish there was a definitive answer....

is overclocking dangerous?

no one seems to have any opinions on this.

If it was totally safe, then the manufacturers would most likely have used it themselves.

It is not like intel CPUs where they sell the same one running at different speeds and charge different prices.

Problem you have to keep in mind is that although your device may appear to be working perfectly, you may be reducing its working life big time.

If that is from 10 years to 5 then who cares, but it may be 10 years to 6 months.

Personally I would not risk it. From what I have read from PC world, manufacturers are usually able to spot overclocking as well, so bang goes the warranty.

right. I do not want to chance it -- I just hope I never accidently install a kernel that overclocks
by default.

default clock for X11 is 400MHz

I get exactly this problem with OpenZaurus. Somewhere I saw a fix for this that involved changing some value in a conf file somewhere, but I didn\'t need it at the time, and can\'t now find it :?

Did you find a fix for this on yours? Mine appears to be something like the digitizer being configured to be over sensitive.

woah, that was a month ago.. I havent used the X11 rom since then.. I\'m using tkc ROM right now, which suits me fine.

Is there a newer verison of the X11 ?

I know it was a while ago - it\'s just that I had the same problem and wondered if you\'d found a fix for it. Presumably not...

I think the latest version of the X11 ROM is from December 2003 which is probably the one you were using.
