Zten Doesn't See Koujien All Of A Sudden
« on: December 07, 2004, 05:36:06 am »
I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden Zten doesn't see Koujien.

Long time ago I converted Koujien following a guide on the web. I've been using it in Zten with many other dictionaries.

But all of a sudden Zten doesn't see it. It reads all the other dictionaries. The files for Zten are still there, no change.

So why could this be?

Did you already consider that maybe your SD or CF card is broken?  Can you copy the dic files for example to some other place?  Did you try to overwrite the files with a fresh copy?

BTW, why did you have to convert the dic?

Thanks for the advice, it helped.

Don't know why though: checked both the SD and CF, there wero no errors, nothing. Then deleted the Koujien files from SD, copied a new copy from PC to CF, then moved it to SD, and it works now.

Why?

Well, mainly it's important it works.

And you were right, I didn't convert Koujien, had that mixed up with Eijirou. Just copied the Koujien.

I hesitate to say that but maybe a SF card slowly dying?  I never had that experience before but maybe you should check this forum for SF card failures...

It probably is, because I formatted the SF then copied everything anew, then ran chkdsk and there were some lost chain or so.

Which is strange cause I've only had it for a month, it's new.

My SD is FAT. Is there some powerful tool which I can use to run diags on it, perhaps single out bad sectors or so?
