Pdf And Mp3 On Oz 3.5.2?
« on: December 12, 2004, 02:35:42 am »
Hi All,

did anyone succeed in installing a pdf viewer or mp3 player on OZ (preferrably opie version)?

qpdf2 always exits with SIGSEGV before even showing it's window,
and all sound players I got to run so far played only "static" so far ...

Any ideas what I could try?

thanks,

Ingo

What do you mean by "static"? I have xmms running, which works sort of...

Hi,
I am with pyrates, xmms is fine. The playlist handling is not intuitivly, but there is documentation on web.
Qpdf2 is horror at sourcecode level. I compiled it once for 3.3.6 and got the same results as now with the 3.5.2 package. The only thing you can now do is to get the ipk from sourceforge and run it with compat-libs. But it will be just as fast as on sharproms or old OZ versions. Softfload would be really nice for the rendering issues of qpdf2.
