Maxima on Zaurus 860

I have tried to use Maxima on my Zaurus SL-C860 but it does not seem to work. The error I obtain is: operating system error during load of initialization file \'maxima-clisp.mem\' Errno = EACCES Permission denied.
I am using the latest Cacko Qtopia ROM.
Am I doing something wrong, or is some library or other required? Or, is Maxima not compatible with the latest Zaurus?
I would appreciate help on this.
Thanks!

Maxima launches on my SL5500 and OZ 3.3.5, but I am not sure how to use it yet. I used MuPad in the past, before I moved to PPC Linux, but having a hard time finding doccumentation for Maxima-- no \'man\' page on the Zaurus version.

Have you checked the permissions for all of the files (both the ownership and the execute bits)?

Once again, thanks lardman! I had already changed execute permissions but for some reason I did not change rw permissions. Now, it works! I might add, I am new to the Zaurus but am more impressed each day as I use it.
