Uploading Files To The Forum
« on: January 10, 2005, 10:52:09 pm »
Most of my attempts to upload to the forums come back with 'That document contains no data' errors. I'm wondering if the problem is it contains too much data, I had no problem with a small text documents or pictures. I couldn't upload a tar.gz or .png that were >500k, maybe it's me? Anyone else have trouble?

Yes, I'm experiencing the same thing as well.

If you don't mind, I'd like to wait until after the forums move to the new server this weekend to troubleshoot the issue.  The new server has a different environment (php version, etc.) so it would make sense to wait.

Sorry for the troubles.

btw - what are you trying to upload (the latest ana kornikova video  )?

Hehe no. It was an image of the internal wireless module of the 6000 in a PDF.

I left you a note on your wiki talk at oesf.org about uploading pictures/etc there. Didn't really know where was the best place to report problems.

Yup, I fixed that and replied to your message there (via the wiki).

That brings up a good point... we should create a new forum or two geared to the oesf/wiki (similar to what we have for the elsi).

thanks

I'm really not trying to distribute porn through the forums! But I noticed that pictures didn't show up in the threads anymore (seems all other types of attachments made it fine). I was going to simply re-upload a pic that I had put one a thread before but I get:
Code: [Select]
THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
The requested file upload failed because suitable permissions have not been enabled on the 'uploads' directory. Please contact the board administrator and inform them of this error.
Sorry to keep buggin about errors. Btw I love the new forum, great job.

I've tried to upload an ipk with both Firefox and Konqueror (only Firefox worked with the previous ZUG forums) but every time I get the same error:
Quote
Upload failed. You are not permitted to upload a file with that file extension
The file extension is just .ipk and the file gets transmitted as I can see it being sent in my net load graph. The ipk is also well under 2MB.
