zaurus light going out?

i purchased my zaurus a little over a year and a half ago.  when i start it up, the light starts off dim and it slowly brightens up.

You guys having the same problem is is this normal?

It dpends on what you mean oby \"slowly brightens up.\" How slowly do you mean?
I think most SL5500s resume witht the light dim, but mine very quickly reaches full brightness less than a second after resuming, which is quite normal.

I\'ve noticed that about mine too.  Usually I\'ll notice it when I\'m at the office and reach over to turn it on to reference something.  The display doesn\'t look as bright as it does other times.  If I turn back to it a couple of minutes later it appears normal.  I was thinking that maybe it\'s my imagination or the office lights playing tricks on my eyes but if others are seeing it too...

i was thinking i was going crazy or something but at first, the display starts off dim and at that point i think its too bright outside or something.  theb, it brightens up to normal and im thinking my sight is getting use to its lumination.

its fine and all but now im thinking if there is a place where i can replace the bakclight!!

by the way--  how long lasting is this light thing?  will it ever burn out besides the noted people who droped the zaurus?
