Anyone who recently flashed to the latest RC9 or did a IPKG upgrade - please flash with the new updated file on the website - it should fix a lot of the problems related to flashing and more..

So please REFLASH with the latest file and check if your problems are still there.

Sorry for the trouble but the current version is still a RC and sometimes we push it to hard to get things out to you guys causing some problems..

Laze,

Maybe it is a good idea to rename this to rc 9.1 or rc 10 ? Now I dont know WHICH RC9 I flashed ... please if you post a way to know, by dates or by bugs fixed, I could test it and know If I got it right

Yes - sorry had to do it in a hurry - but maybe check md5sum of your old one..

But basically the file was put online at the same time as the post so if you downloaded before that you should do a reflash..

Yes, Yes i know its a mess - but one day when we have a final 1.1.0 we will probally clean up :-)

hi,

what is the benefit of flashing anew?

i've just all installed, configured and moved to sd rc9/2005_01_31 and don't like to redo all after new romflash...

except of gpsdrive from rc5, which starts under rc8 (now it's moaning no garmin support in kernel and quit with a segfault), all seems to be working...

thank you for your good work!

Hello Laze,

I've done a manual update (download ipkgs from mirror1.pdaxrom.org/current two days ago, checked versions installed and avaiable, ipkg install of changed ipk) to preserve my settings and other stuff.

Now, the new (new-new!) packages in mirror1.pdaxrom.org/current have their version number increased or they're changed BUT version is the same? Do I have to check myself filesize/md5?

Thank you for any help...

Andrea

The ipkg feed is only upgraded when new things are added - but as i wrote flashing the latest RC9 is probally the best thing to do :-)

Regarding flashing if you made a succesfull flash/update and have no problems there is no reason to flash - but if you having problems we recommending flashing :-)
