tkROM on SL-C860
« on: January 13, 2004, 03:58:37 pm »
I have tried to install tkROM (initrd[1].bin-tkrom-2.2.1-slc8x0 and updater.sh-slc860) to my SL-C860 from the page:
http://community.zaurus.com/project/showfi...&release_id=291
after installation I saw startup sceen and then time setting without any data. Could not type anything. Could not do anything. Hanged up.

Did I make something wrong or this system in spite of its description does not work on SL-C860?

Yep, it did that on my 760 too.

I think its trying to call the pim apps to input your personal data, but they are not there.

unplug the power and remove the battery for at least 5 seconds.

power back up and it should boot.

2.2.1 is pretty old now, this and many other fixes have happened since.

A lot of people get confused by the download page for the tkc rom, and don\'t realise that the c7x0 rom also works fine on the c860(they are physically identical apart from the colour).

Use the c860 updater.sh and use the 2.5.1 initrd.bin from the c7x0 bit.

Proto needs to either bunch the too together or link them in some way.

I tried the combination the c860 updater.sh and the 2.5.1 initrd.bin  from c7x0 but my c860 hanged up during installation.
